We are proud mothers of children who are either on active duty or have been honorably discharged from the military.

Blue Star Mother's of America is a non-partisan, non-political non-sectarian, non-discriminatory, and non-profit organization. The military represents all aspects of America, as does our group. We have nearly 6,000 members from over 200 Chapters throughout the nation. We are a 501(c)3 organization.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Being a mom is hard”? Certainly, it is. We work to raise our children, nurturing, guiding, and protecting them as they grow into adults. We watch with pride and celebrate their independence, yet the role of a military mom is quite different from that of most moms. Our hearts are torn with pride for the patriotic commitment our children have made to protect the freedoms of those they may not even agree with and the fear of the dangers both physically and mentally that they will face at home and on foreign lands. We wait, we worry, we watch, and we try not to let our imaginations get the best of us.

Founded in Flint Michigan in 1942, the Blue Star Mothers organization provides support for military personnel, promotes patriotism, assists Veterans organizations, and is available to aid in the homeland volunteer efforts to help our country remain strong.

We are mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, and female legal guardians of veterans or sons and daughters currently serving in the military. Associate members include all other family, spouses, and friends,
